Pros outweigh Cons

I purchased this knife to replace a broken survival knife I was fond of. I wanted something to process wood while backpacking. The knife arrived with some dings in the handle, but I decided to keep it because I really liked the look of it. What I am using this knife for will put many more dings in the handle so that's not important. The steel however is important. This is extremely good steel for bushcrafting. Its ridiculously strong and I feel very confident it will not break under heavy use. I slammed through many large logs, made feather sticks, and even misfired the blade directly onto a rock. A minute with my stone and the edge was restored. The stone strike showed in the blade, but was not damaging enough to not be quickly removed on the stone. The sheath is fully functional, no bells and whistles, its a pretty knife, and the most important part, the steel, is ground very uniformly. A little mineral oil on the blade after heavy use and I have had no problems with corrosion after three days of use. All in all I would say Knives Ranch is a great company for outdoor knives. 4/5 for the knicks in the handle, and a slight finish bleed from the handle.
